Josephine ?Josie? Angelina Guagenti, 98, died at 3:23 a.m. June 18, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1912, in Caccamo, Sicily, to Salvatore and Josephine Geraci, who preceded her in death. She was married to Louis Guagenti, who died in 1971. Mrs. Guagenti was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Her husband was founder and owner of the Alpine Restaurant. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She had great passion and skills in creating fantastic meals and visiting with others. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia ?Gena? Guagenti, of Lima, Ohio; six grandchildren, Louis S. Guagenti, Louis T. Guagenti, Nichole Dyer, Jodie Goettemoeller, John Guagenti and Derek Noll; six great-grandchildren, plus one expected; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Angeline ?Angie? Costello, of Chicago; and three daughters-in-law, Marie Guagenti-LeRoy and Josephine Guagenti, both of Lima, Ohio, and Margie Noll, of Sarasota, Florida. She was preceded in death by four sons, Joseph ?Little Joe? Guagenti, Frank ?Chico? Guagenti, Salvatore ?Sam? Guagenti and Nicholas ?Nick? Guagenti; an infant daughter; a sister, Jennie Macaluso; and two brothers, Nick Geraci and Sam Geraci. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Stephen Blum will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
