Joyce A. Williams,
70, of Elida, Ohio, formerly of Columbus Grove, Ohio. died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 10:45 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born March 29, 1942 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter Earl Martin, M.D. and the late Martha (Fields) Martin.
Joyce married James H. Williams on November 12, 1976 in Columbus Grove, Ohio. She was an LPN and had worked at her fathers, Dr. Martin's, office for many years. She was a foster mother for 25 years for more than 50 children. She loved animals, enjoyed all types of flowers, loved her family, and spending time with them all. She was a member of New Hope Christian Center.
Surviving are: seven sons, Craig Darbyshire of Lima, OH, Curt (Mary) Darbyshire of Columbus Grove, OH, James Darby (Beka) Williams of Toledo, OH, Michael Williams of Lima, OH, Tony Williams of Lima, OH, Darian Williams of Lima, OH, and Luis Williams of San Angelo, TX; three daughters, Cheri Darbyshire of Lima, OH, Cristi (Gene) Smith of Elida, OH and Joy Ellen Williams of Lima, OH; forty-four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Debra (Jim) Smelser of Columbus Grove, OH.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela; and a grandson, Jaden Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Pastor Jim Menke officiating.
Interment will be in Truro West Cemetery, Columbus Grove, OH.
