Juanita Myers

JUANITA R. "SKEET" MYERS, 85, died at 1:40 p.m. December 26, 2005, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born January 20, 1920, in Lima, Ohio to Ernest C. and Ila Staley Bailey, who preceded her in death. On July 25, 1947, she married Morris L. "Tooley" Myers, who died February 20, 1986. Mrs. Myers retired from Power Drug Store. She had also worked as an operator for United Telephone Co., and had worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a member of the Elkettes Bowling League from 1960 to 1995, and had won several trophies and awards for bowling. She and her sisters had the Sisterette Club. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma, who loved her family and friends deeply. She thoroughly enjoyed her Wednesday lunch and shopping day with her daughter. She will always be in our hearts. Survivors include a daughter, Amber (William "Bill") Horner of Lima, Ohio; four sisters, Naomi Mertz of Cridersville, Ohio, Pauline Newland of Holiday, Florida, Kathryn (Pat) Reilly of Cridersville, Ohio and Yvonne (John) Stratton of Colorado; two grandchildren, Melissa and Andrea; and six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Michael, Kameron, Mitchell, Myla and Kaelon. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Bailey; and three sisters, Esther White, Joan Marie Bailey and Bernice Crissinger. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
