Judith K. Riemesch

Judith (Judy) K. (Emehiser) Riemesch died on July 25, 2024, at her daughters home surrounded by family. 

She was born May 18, 1941, in Indiana, Pennsylvania to the late Leroy and Dorothy (Bilby) Emehiser. She was privileged to have shared in the home care of both her mother and father before they passed away. On August 27, 1960 she married Willis (Bill) Riemesch who preceded her in death.

Judy previously worked at the Lima Bargain Center, Colonial Finance and retired after 30 years from the United Way of Greater Lima, whose president Bev Prueter was her best friend. She was a member of the Allentown United Methodist Church and Women’s Society, and had taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and directed the youth fellowship.

Survivors include a loving son, Dan (Chris) Riemesch of Celina and a loving daughter, Nancy (Dave) O’Keefe of Lima. She is also survived by two wonderful grandsons, Brent (Megan) Riemesch of Lima and Greg (Kelly) Riemesch of Celina; five beautiful great-grandchildren: Connor and Olivia Riemesch of Elida and Chloe, Owen, and Madilyn Riemesch of Celina; foster granddaughters, Gail Johnson, and Kaylee May of Lima; brother-in-law, John Fitzgerald of Lima; sister-in-law, Joyce Riemesch of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Cummins, Lois Givens and Connie Fitzgerald; brothers-in-law, Mike Cummins, Robert Riemesch and David Riemesch; sisters-in-law, Ruth Closson and Dianna Eiche; and a niece, Sheri Eiche.

Judy was blessed with a loving and devoted family. She and Bill had 64 years together. Their beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of their lives. They all shared many enjoyable vacations and had a lot of good times together. Many cherished memories were made. One of her special joys was talking on the phone with her children, grandchildren, and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior. Pastor Kelly Waltz will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or United Way of Greater Lima.
