Julia Ann Ryan

Julia Ann Ryan, 82, passed away at 7:15 P.M. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center. Julia lived a full life here in Lima, OH. She was born at home on August 4, 1930 to the late Walter and Mary M. (Auer) Stippich, the second oldest of seven children. 19 years later, she married Leo ("Sonny") Ryan. In the span of nine years, she and Sonny had five children.
On top of being a loving mother and wife, Julia sang in St. Gerard's choir and worked at Clemen's bakery as a cake decorator. For 40 years, Julia acted as a volunteer in St. Gerard's school kitchen. In June of 2002, after 53 years of marriage, Julia lost Sonny. Julia was always an avid reader, tv-watcher (with Days of Our Lives and The Today Show being her favorites), and gardener.
She loved to laugh, be with her family, and lay with her dog - Abby. Julia was care-free and could always be counted on to lighten the mood and bring a smile to your face. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by; three sons - Pat Ryan of Lima, Tim (Pam) Ryan of Elida, and Mike (Judy) Ryan of Venice Beach, CA,; two daughters - Lin (Greg) Thompson of Spencerville, Kim (Dave) Cheng of Rockford, IL also two sisters - Mary Bryan, Lima, and Carol (Sam) Conte of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother - Paul (Edna) Stippich of Cridersville; eight grandchildren - Jenny Poe, Job Thompson Zack Ryan, Justin (Lindsey) Ryan, Nathan (Crystal Dietrich) Ryan, Laurie (Adam) Kney, Missy Cheng and Julianne Cheng two great grandchildren - Nick Poe and Caiden Ryan, also Sister-in-laws and brother-in-law Kathy and Bob Ryan and Joeann Ryan of Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by three brothers - Jim Stippich and Norb Stippich, and Walter A. Stippich, Jr.,


The family will receive friends Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with a Parish Wake at 5:00 P.M.


Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 17, 2023 at St. Gerard Catholic Church Father Michael Houston will officiate.

Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
