Karen “Sue” Holmes, 75 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home in Lima.
Karen was born October 18, 1945 in Sidney, Ohio. On December 12, 1964 she was united in marriage to Robert Holmes who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Karen was a member of Elida Immanuel Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher, and she loved to sew and make crafts. She devoted her life to being a wife and mother of nine children. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and kept an immaculate house.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Jean Dellinger; her father, Bernard Collins; her adoptive father, Ned Brackney; and her son, Jeffrey Holmes. She is survived by her husband, Robert Holmes; her sister, Debbe (Craig) Sullivan; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Holmes; her children: Curt Holmes, Mike Holmes, Chris (Michell) Holmes, Scott (Deanna) Holmes, Beth (Carl) Mazzocca, Brittany (Chris) Schimpf, Tina (Brent) Brinkman, Tim (Danielle) Holmes, and Brandy (Jay) Hollstein. She was a loving grandmother to 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter, Columbus, P.O. Box 324, Blacklick, Ohio 43004 in honor of her grandson.
