Karen Kjarista Mayer,

69, passed away on January 28, 2016, at Wexner University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Karen was born on Wednesday, May 15, 1946, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Omar and Lucerne (Redd) Erickson.

Karen bowled and played and coached softball. She was President of her bowling league and enjoyed watching all sports. She loved doing the wave by herself at her son Jeff's hockey games. She wasn't afraid to look silly. She loved having fun.

She is survived by: sons, James Douglas Mayer, daughter, Kjarista Ann (Kirk) Busch and son, Jeffrey Scott (Chanda) Mayer; grandchildren, Vyette, Jordyn, Marisa, Kollier, Jacob, Kjarista Alannah and Berend and brother, Dennis Erickson; two nieces Amy Erickson and Susan Erickson; two nephews Edward Erickson and Bill Erickson.

She is preceded in death by: brother, Steve Erickson, brother, David Douglas Erickson and sister, Judy Erickson.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 1 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
