Karen Sue (Campbell) Ladden

76, of Lima, died at 10:51 a.m. December 4, 2018 at Mercy-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born August 12th in Lima, Ohio. to Don and Rose (Taggi) Campbell who preceded her in death. On June 25th 1966 she married James C. Ladden who preceded her in death. She had 45 wonderful years with the love of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Karen was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered in many things: Spartan Mothers, St. Gerard Athletic Association, St. Gerard Pastoral Council, Past President of the Eagles in Colorado Springs. Life member of PTA, Lifetime member of the Go Bucks Club and City of Hope St. Jude. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Cheerleader Advisor, and helped coach softball. She also volunteered for Lima Senior football games, basketball games, Safety City, St. Gerard festival, LCC concession, basketball and football games and Square Fair. She chaperoned on bus trips for North Middle School and St. Gerard School. Also helped with the Lima Warriors football team. She was so blessed to be put in the Hall of Fame at St. Gerard.

Survivors include: two sons, Shawn Ladden of Columbus, OH and David Ladden of Lima OH. One daughter Dawn Marie of Lima, OH; a grandson Kal-el Ladden of Columbus, OH; one brother Tom (Pat) Campbell of Mt Gillion, OH; many nieces and nephews.

She retired from Head Start, Lima City Schools, St. Gerard Extended day.

Karen loved to watch all the kids that she worked with by going to their, games and graduations. She loved her Ohio State Buckeyes and her dog “Buckeye.”

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at St. Gerard Catholic Church.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Interment of ashes will be in Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date.
