Kathleen Gay Adams 77, died at 6:21 a.m. December 29, 2007, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born December 11, 1930, in Rantoul, Ill., to Ralph and Erma Marshall Mc-Carty. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Dayton, Ohio. She was married to Oscar H. Adams, who died in March 2006. Mrs. Adams was retired from Lima Correctional Institution as a teacher for the general equivalency diploma program. She also taught at the Lima Senior High GED program. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1985. She was a member of the Friends of the Library and Library Book Club. She was a member of the Ohio State Alumni Association. She loved to read and teach and be with friends and family and she loved to travel. She had a lot of wit and wisdom to share. Survivors include a son, Bruce Alden (Hortencia) Adams, of California; a daughter, Teresa Gay Adams, of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Lois Maxine Clingman, of Dayton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Sylvia Marie Adams, of California; and a niece, Patricia Clingman, of Dayton, Ohio. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Chaplain Herbert Wilker will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
