Kathleen Louise Bear

Kathleen Bear, 94, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on April 17, 2023 at Springview Manor.

Kathleen was born on November 17, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, to Jasper and Aeselda Beth (Robnolte) Dearth. In April of 1949, Katie married Richard Allgire in Ada, Ohio, he preceded her in death on March 21, 1982.  In February of 1971, she married Manford Bear in Lima, Ohio, he preceded her in death on January 27, 1991.

Katie was a 1946 graduate of Ada, High School, Ada, Ohio.  She worked as a waitress and as a office / telephone operator.  She belonged to the Lima Baptist Temple, Lima, Ohio.  She was a member of; Trinity Chapter #16 Order of Eastern Star, where she had served as Worthy Matron; Lima Shrine #20 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; Findlay Assembly #252 Social Order of Beauceant; El Karan Caldron #56 Daughters of Mokanna; and Rawson #550 D.E.S. -- Mt. Cory

She is survived by her son Richard Allgire; and siblings Esther Penhorwood and Rev. Thomas (Janice) Dearth; sisters-in-law Karen Dearth, Jean Ann Dearth, and Anita Dearth.

Along with her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by a son Chris Allgire; sisters LaDonna Greer, Ilene Padgett, Dorothy Kramer, and Janet Gault; brothers Don Dearth, Russell Dearth, Jerry Dearth, Justin Dearth, and John Dearth; and brother-in-law John Penhorwood.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
