83, passed away peacefully at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday December 3, 2015 surrounded by her family at her daughter's residence in Lima, Ohio.
Kathleen was born on Tuesday, September 6, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Frank Patrick and Mildred Hattie (Hunter) Lyons. On October 13, 1951, she married Joel H. Stumpp, who went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2013.
Kathleen and Joel left their legacy with a loving family, with 4 children, Michael Stumpp of Indian Lake, OH, Stephanie (the Late Kevin) Everhardt, Vickie (Gregory) Patterson, Sharon (Steve) Shambarger who all reside in the Lima, Ohio, and Judy Stumpp who passed away at birth. Kathleen is survived by 8 grandchildren Jamie (Robb) Frost, Chad Everhardt ,Joy (Josh) Buetner all of Lima, OH, Matthew (Jayme) Patterson (Waynesfield, OH), Julianna Patterson (Carmel, Indiana), Aubrey (Todd) Ruggley (Tempe, Arizona), Angela Burke and Amanda (Vince) Chamov (St. Louis Missouri), as well as 12 great grandchildren
Kathleen was a co-owner of the Klothes Kloset, a women's clothing store in Lima, for 20 years, and previously worked at Claire's and Sears. She was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, and also attended Church of the Nazarene and Allentown Church.
Kathleen Stumpp was adored by her children and grandchildren, who gathered with her in her final days to surround her with the love and memories she gave them. Katie and Joel spent many years traveling and found St. Augustine, Florida to be their favorite. She enjoyed summers at her pool with Joel and her family, sewing, baking, crafting with her grandchildren and spending time with family. In her later years, Katie lived with her daughters and enjoyed her time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and caregiver, Tina. Kathleen leaves a legacy of love, unwavering kindness, and importance of family with those she knew.
The family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 Cable Rd. in Lima. The funeral service will follow visitation beginning at 6 p.m. Pastor Gary Rummel will officiate.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Allentown Cemetery on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 3 p.m. in Allentown, Ohio.
