Kathryn Marie Harris 89, died at 3:30 p.m. August 18, 2007, at St. Rita?s Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born February 21, 1918, in Canfield, Ohio to Dale Virgil and Villa Marie Konkle Fay, who preceded her in death. She was married and divorced from Vernon Edward Harris, who died May 7, 1975. Mrs. Harris had been an office manager at Fair Radio Sales Co., for 35 years. She had been a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She had been a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos. She was a 1936 graduate of Lima Central High School. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, when she could still see, and baking pumpkin pies for her family. She had lived at Lima Towers for 22 years, where she had many happy times there, especially with her good friends, Mae, Willa, Don, Becky and her hair stylist, Kelly Heise. She had no siblings, so she was extremely close with her only child. Her family treasured her for her wit, humility, wisdom and warmth. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah (Jack) Black, of Lima, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kristy (Gary) Young, of Lima, Ohio, and Laura (Andrew) Penca, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Jared Young, Andrew Penca II, Allison Young and Landon Jack Penca. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Bryan Bucher will officiate, with Eric Flick speaking. Burial of the cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
