Kathy L. Patten, 70 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and formerly of Lima, died of heart failure at her home on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 21 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. followed by a Chaplet of Divine Mercy Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Rose Catholic Church. Father David Ross will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum in Lima.
Survivors include her husband Joseph, a son Wayne (Gail) of Fairfield, Ohio; a daughter Angela (Gary) Rohret of Swisher Iowa; a sister Linda (Greg) Martz of Lima, Ohio and a brother David Bowers of Lima. She is also survived by five grandchildren Samuel, Noah, Erin, Maxwell, Riley, and her cat Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Gary and Michael Bowers.
Kathy was born on August 26, 1947 in Lima, Ohio the daughter of Jack and Helen (Early) Bowers. She married Joseph P. Patten on December 10, 1966 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima, Kathy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon Club and Glenmary Missionary Guild. She volunteered and did fund raising for several community organizations.
Kathy enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was an avid bridge player. She will forever be remember as a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
