KAY LOUISE HARNISHFEGER, 64, of Spring City, Tenn., formerly of Lima, died at 11:30 p.m. March 12, 2007, at her residence. She was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Lima to Raymond F. and Rosemary "Rosie" McBeth Thompson. Her father survives in Lima. Her mother preceded her in death. On March 27, 1971, she married William "Bill" Harnishfeger, who survives in Spring City, Tenn. Mrs. Harnishfeger had worked at Piece Goods for several years, was a hairdresser at Venus Beauty Shop and had been co-owner of the Velvet Bow, Lima. She had been a volunteer with St. Rita's Auxiliary, where she helped with craft projects for the holiday bazaar. She was a member of the Northwest Ohio Quilters Guild and was involved with several quilting clubs in the Lima area and in Tennessee. She was a gifted and creative quilter and a wonderful teacher of quilting and beading. She was a 1960 graduate of Shawnee High School. She was a faithful friend and a loving wife. She enjoyed her home on Watts Bar Lake. Survivors also include two stepdaughters, Marie Harnishfeger, of Washington, and Susan (Don) Sheffield, of Pinedale, Wyo.; two sisters, Peggy Tenwalde, of Lima, and Tena Thompson, of Las Vegas; two stepgranddaughters, Ginger Sheffield and Aspen Sheffield, both of Pinedale, Wyo.; a nephew, Jeff (Jenny) Tenwalde, of Lima; and three great-nephews, Cameron, Jack and Sam, all of Lima. She was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Al and Olive Harnishfeger. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
