Kay Marie (Diegel) Marsteller

Kay Marie Marsteller, 76, of Elida, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 1:10 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

Kay was born on January 12, 1942 in Wapakoneta, OH to the late Russell and Donnabelle (Garber) Diegel. On June 12, 1960, she married Eugene Clark Marsteller, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in August 2018.

Kay worked at Gregg’s Department store and later worked at Hart’s in the jewelry department, where she eventually became a gemologist and later worked at Kay’s Jewelers.  She loved and cherished her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed cruising, cross-stitching, sitting by the campfire, and most of all reading and spending time in the library. She looked forward every year to going to Florida and visiting her snowbird friends.

She is survived by her sons: Dan (Mel Stange) Marsteller, Jim Marsteller, and Jeff (Diane) Marsteller, grandchildren: Stephen (Katie) Marsteller, Brittany Marsteller, Eric Marsteller, Andrew (Camille) Marsteller, Kylie (Matt) Thwaits, and Lindsey Marsteller, great-grandchildren: Kassidi Marsteller, Asa Marsteller, Vera Marsteller, Josh Bales, and Benjamin Thwaits, brother-in-laws Oliver (Phyllis) Marsteller and Lloyd Treadway, and sister-in-law Delores Drennen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, daughter Christine Marie Marsteller, brother-in-laws Harold Marsteller and Burress Drennen, and sister-in-laws Annabelle (Warren “Bud”) Bible and Ellen Treadway.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5-8p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OH. A funeral service will begin at 11a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at First Missionary Church in Lima. Rev. Dr. Timothy White will officiate. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10-11a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. OH.
