Keith "Champ" Henson,
64 of Lima, Ohio died in his home of natural causes on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 7:45 A.M. in Lima, Ohio.
Born Saturday, January 25, 1948 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Val Allen Henson and the late Elizabeth (Adam) Henson.
Keith was a 1966 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and served his country as a medic in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a true patriot and loved his country.
Keith coached slow-pitch softball and had bowled on leagues at Moreo and 20th Century Lanes. He and his father were partners and owned their own remodeling business. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and deeply loved by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are: three brothers, Dave (Randee) Henson, Val (Diane) Henson and Carmen (Jody) Henson-with whom he resided; five sisters, Karen (Mike) Corcoran, Valerie Johnson, Joyce Stombaugh, Carla (William) Hill and Beth (Mike) Dible; twenty-one nieces and nephews and ten great nieces & nephews; two aunts Suzanne Adams, and Bernadine Henson; many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother John Michael Henson.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 2, 2012, and 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. VFW Post 1275 military service at 7:00 P.M. with a rosary service to follow.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio with the Rev. Norbert J. Howe and Rev. David M. Ross officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH. with military rites conducted by VFW Post 1275.
