Kenneth V. ?The Pie Man? Raabe, 73, died at 10:30 p.m. October 10, 2008, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1935, in Flat Rock, Michigan, to Jacob H. and M. Evelyn Lincoln Raabe, who preceded him in death. On April 11, 1959, he married Sally I. Mummaugh, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Raabe retired from the BP/Standard Oil Chemical Plant, after more than 45 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54. He had been the foster father of 29 babies over a five-year period. He was lovingly known as ?The Pie Man? throughout the Lima community. Survivors also include a son, K. Craig Raabe, of Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Debbie (Al) Keller, of Romeo, Michigan, and Ann Marie Pate, of Butler, Kentucky; a brother, Larry J. Raabe, of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Marie (Howard) Brown, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Janet (Dean) Shaw, of Newberry Park, Calif.; and nine grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Stephen Blum will officiate. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Fire and EMS.
