Kenneth David Reese

Kenneth David Reese, 81, of Lima, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1938 in Lima to the late Samuel and Glena {Kohli} Reese.  On November 18, 1961he married Diana Lee West, who survives him in Lima.

Kenneth was part of the first graduating class at Lima Senior High in 1956. He was in the US Army as a military policeman in Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He and his wife spent most of their time 70 plus years in Lima. He was an electrician all his life and retired from AEP and General Dynamics. He was a state certified electrical inspector, serving on the electrical board of appeals in Lima as well as a motorcycles safety instructor at Apollo Career Canter for 10 years. Ken and Diana were members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association for ten years. They rode thousands of miles cross country. He was also a member of the Eagles #370, Utility Workers Union Local 111 and United Auto Workers Union Local 2075.

Kenneth is survived by his children: Sherri (Tony) Collins of Lima, Darla (Kim Harruff) Reese of Lima, Dr. Thomas (Deana) Reese of El Paso, TX, Tim Reese of Indianapolis, IN, Pam (David) Swords of Springfield, OH, and Dorothy “Dodie” (Stan) Anderson of Black Hawk, SD, grandchildren: Amber (Jerry) Novi of Streamwood, IL, Dr. Stuart (Laura) Collins of Genoa, OH, Logan “Rocky” Reese of Lima, Carter Reese of El Paso, TX, Gianna Reese of El Paso, TX, Regan Reese “grand-dog” of Indianapolis, IN, Marc (Kevin) Holt of Springfield, OH, Nicholas (Amanda) Holt of Springfield, OH, Brad (Amber) Swords of Springfield, OH, Nathan (Nancy) Workman of Springfield, OH, and Zach (Heather) Workman of Springfield, OH, great-grandchildren: Luca “T.”, Smith, Eleanor, William, Isla, Aaron, Summer, MaKayla, Jackson, Aubrey, Zoey, Taylor, and Nathan, brothers: Thomas Reese and William (Pearl) Reese, and his beloved white Maltese dog, Tootsie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary Reese.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. On June 3, 2019 at 1pm, there will be graveside services at Ward Cemetery.
