Kenyon D. Pryer, 80, of Lima, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 6:48 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, after a 19 year battle with breast cancer. She was born on March 24, 1940 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late March and Josie Bowman. She married James Freed Grass Jr. in August 1963, and he preceded her in death. She later married Jack Pryer, who also preceded her in death.
Kenyon was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, class of 1958. She worked for Shawnee Schools in the cafeteria. She was a member of South Side Christian Church in Lima and loved singing in the church choir, as well as the civic choir. She enjoyed playing piano and spending time with her grandchildren and her fur babies, Jackson and Jasmine.
She is survived by her sons, James Grass and Mark Grass; daughter, Amy Grass, grandchildren, Gunnar and Greta Grass; sister-in-law, Sandi Bowman; and step-children, Sharon Lacourse and Scott Pryer.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Bowman; and sister-in-law, Betty Jean Whitley.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. Burial will be at Shawnee Cemetery.
