L. Jeanne Towsey
92, died peacefully in her sleep May 18, 2015 at Baton Rouge Health Services. Jeanne was born on May 12, 1924 to Leonard Jones and Reverta Black Jones. Both parents preceded her in death. Jeanne graduated from Central High School and Lima School of Practical Nursing. She retired from lima Memorial health Systems as a licensed Practical Nurse after 20 years of service.
She was also a also a receptionist for Crime Victims Services and the Bradfield Community Center. She was a member of the Northside Neighborhood Association.
She loved sharing time with family and friends. She was baptized into the Baptist Faith at a young age. She attended Second Baptist Church.
She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events. She loved watching her favorite team the Spurs play ball, especially Tim Duncan. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Norma (Bill) Johnson, sister, Dorothy Taylor, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one nephew, a host of cousins and special friends of the family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Ann (Dec. at birth), two sisters, Alyce Ione Barkley and Rose Marie Jefferson and a nephew, Stephen Taylor.
According to her wishes the family will have a private Memorial Service. We would like to thank the people who gave Jeanne special care at Baton rouge Health Services and to all who showed care and concern throughout her illness.
