Larry Allen Curl, Sr., 64, of Lima, Ohio died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 6:50 A.M.He was born Tuesday, April 15, 1947 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Ira Curl and Dorothy Miehls Curl.

He served in the Navy from 1966 until 1972. He was a Veteran of Vietnam.

On July 19, 2008, he married Sharon K. Stayonovich, who survives in Lima. Mr. Curl was a 1966 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. He was a Navy veteran, having served in Viet Nam from October 6, 1966 to July 29, 1972. Mr. Curl retired from the City of Lima as Residential Building Inspector. Mr. Curl worked in law enforcement for various agencies in Dallas, Texas, and Allen And Putnam counties. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Jennings Creek Council of pre-1840 reenactors. He was a volunteer for the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District, and a member of the Liberty Conservation Club. He loved to sing barbershop as a member of the Lima Beane Chorus. He was an amateur ham radio operator. He loved to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda K. Hance.

Surviving are sons, Larry A. Curl of Lima, OH and Aaron J. Curl of Lima, OH, brother, Craig Curl of Lima, OH, sisters, Deborah (Dave) Langhals of Columbus Grove, OH, Karen Gogley of Lima, OH and Lisa (Andy) Sampson of Lima, OH., stepdaughter, Stacey (Alex) Ustian of Columbus, Ohio, Stepson, Nicholas (Ann) Stayonovich of Lima, Ohio, four grandchildren, Logan Curl, Noah Curl, Benjamin Curl, Kaitlyn Curl, four step grandchildren, Michelle Stayonovich of Lima, Ohio, Michael Stayonovich of Lima, Ohio, Madison Stayonovich of Lima, Ohio, Matthew Stayonovich of Lima, Ohio, and several nieces & nephews.

His first wife Linda K. Hance preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio with the Father David M. Ross officiating. Interment will be in Bluelick Cemetery, Lima, OH. With a Military Service conducted by VFW Post 1275 at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home,
