LaVerne Joseph Malsam,
73 of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, April 20, 2012, 3:30 A.M. at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, November 21, 1938 in Hayes, Kansas, he was the son of the late Frederick Malsam and the late Catherine Richmeier Malsam.
He served in the United States Army.
LaVerne married Doris Johnson on October 10, 1959 in Ottawa, Ohio; she survives in Lima, Ohio. He was a licensed Insurance Agent for Craft Insurance and then Kesner Insurance. He was a life member of Eagles Aerie #370 and Elks BPOE. #54, Lima, Ohio
Surviving are: two sons, Bryan T. (Kris) Malsam of Columbus Grove, OH and Troy D. (Mary) Malsam of Columbus Grove, OH; two grandsons, Taylor and Logan and three granddaughters, Lindsey, Hallie, and Kirsten; three sisters, Barb (Tom) Kinderknecht of Park , KS Carol (Allen) McIntosh of Quinter, KS, and Rita (Kirby) Mader of Quinter, KS: nine half brothers, Larry (Gloria) Malsam of Aurora, Co., John (Sharon) Malsam of Ft. Bragg, CA. Tony (Flossie) Malsam of Great Bend, KS., Jim (Gwen) Yanda of White Salmon, WA., , and one half sister Katherine (Clem) Reitmeyer of Quinter, KS; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet "Zoie"
He was predeceased by a daughter, Nanette Marie Malsam, and a brother, Richard Malsam; and five half brothers, Frank Malsam, Steve Malsam, George Malsam, Chuck Malsom and Ted Malsam.
Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. William Cronk officiating.
Interment will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic, OH.
