Lester was born on November 10, 1947, in Lima, Ohio, to Lester Swickrath Sr and Louella (Campbell] Swickrath. On Saturday, October 1, 1966, in Lima, Ohio, he married Barbara A. (Nickells) Swickrath.

Lester married Barbara A. Nickells on October 1, 1966 in Lima. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2010. He retired from the Ford Motor Company. He loved hunting, fishing, watching shows on the "Boob Tube" and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Carl Swickrath and Chris Swickrath, a daughter, Paula Raines, Lima, OH, six grandchild, Jason (Kelly) Raines Jr, Megan Raines, Kaylah (Roger) Saylor; Shelby Coil, Selena Gibson, Kelsey Gibson; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Gambrel and Sandra (Bill) Carpenter; two brothers, Tim (Nan) Swickrath and John (Shirley) Swickrath.

He is preceded in death by, a brother-in-law, Don Gambrel.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Pastor Arnold Wright will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
