LILAH G. HAMMOND, 88, died at 7:10 p.m. April 8, 2005, at her residence. She was born April 22, 1916, in Elmore County, Alabama, to Ben and Anna Spradling Crockett, who preceded her in death. She was married to Leonard V. Hammond, who died January 28, 1984. Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and its Encouragers Sunday school class. She was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include friend and caregiver, Jean (Orville) Redmond of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Crockett and Marion Crockett; and a sister, Grace Stiniff. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
