Linda Sue Sarno

Linda Sue Sarno, 78, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Lima Convalescent Home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on February 24, 1943 in Lima, Ohio, to A. Peter and Leah L. (Bryan) Beck.  On June 15, 1963 she married her beloved husband, Anthony “Tony” Sarno, who survives in Lima.

Linda worked as both an agent and the office manager at Beck & Sarno Insurance.  She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Elks, Eagles, and CIAO of Lima.  She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, tennis and loved casinos.  Her greatest joy was being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and of course doting over her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Tom (Tonya) Sarno and Nick (Jolene) Sarno, both of Lima; daughters, Deb (Greg) Sharrits and Beth (Dan) Duffy, both of Cleveland; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Beverly Beck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Beck and Kenneth William “Bill” Beck; and  sister-in-law, Carolyn Beck.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Johns Catholic Church.  Father David Ross will officiate.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Lima Convalescent Home and to Mercy Health Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Convalescent Home – Memory Care Unit, Allen County Council on Aging Adult Daycare, or Lima Central Catholic School.
