Lissie Cartwright

Lissie, 39, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.  Lissie was born on March 5, 1984, in Lima, Ohio, to Rooney Cartwright and Marlene Gibson who are both surviving.

Lissie worked as a traveling nurse and enjoyed cooking, music, and makeup.  She loved spending time with the grandchildren, her husband, and caring for others.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Roger Banks; children: Kashawnna Ware, Kiara Ware, Earvin Ware Jr., and Lashayla Ware; grandchildren: Ka’or Griffin, Ka’air Frazier, Ja’kari Whiteside, K’airy Rose, and Ka’vaeah Whiteside; siblings: Rooney Cartwright Jr., Angelo Cartwright, Lavest Whisenton, Ladora Whisenton, Jacquavious Cartwright, Jasmin (Derrick Denton) Cartwright and Justin Gibson; goddaughter, Arabia Akins; godson, A’siah Love; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Lissie Cartwright and Stelleen Gibson; granddaughter, Ka’laya Rose; and cousins, Shena Gibson and James Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
