LOIS MARIE BOUGHAN, 86, died at 10:41 a.m. April 9, 2007, at her residence, in the loving care of her children. She was born August 19, 1920, in Lima, Ohio to Harold and Stella Shook Bowers, who preceded her in death. On October 28, 1943, she married Paul L. Boughan, who died November 1, 1983. Mrs. Boughan was a homemaker and had retired as a cafeteria worker from Cairo and Bath schools, after 17 years. She had also worked at Neisner's 5&10 Store, Lima, Ohio, during the 1940s. While raising her children, she was a stay-at-home mother, who helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of Lima Community Church of the Nazarene, where she worked at the Bible school, served funeral dinners for 16 years, helped in the church office and often visited the sick and shut-ins. She had been a member of Allentown United Methodist Church, where she committed her life to Jesus at the age of 13, and continued to live her life in service to him. She attended Faith Wesleyan Church, Lima, Ohio, for several years, where she served on the board, was a Sunday school teacher and a song leader. She was a volunteer at WTGN radio, where she helped with mailings. She was a member of the Happy Hour Garden Club, Lima, Ohio. She had won several ribbons at the Allen County Fair for her baking, canning, produce and flowers. She was a 1938 graduate of Shawnee High School. She enjoyed her family reunions, gospel quartets and sending cards and letters of encouragement. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (James) Sawmiller and Diana Jean (Dwain) Klink, both of Cairo, Ohio; a son, Daniel Boughan, of Cairo, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Luella Gallaspie, of Lima, Ohio. Services will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Lima Community Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. David Radcliffe will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery.
