Lois Anne (Kerrick) Skamfer passed into the Church Triumphant on Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019. Born on October 9, 1935 in Findlay, Ohio, Lois, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, is survived by her loving husband of 61.5 years, Robert; son Timothy (Kathie) Skamfer; daughters Sandra (Paul) Smith, Karen (Roger) Facer, and Cheryl (Jeffrey) Bower; grandchildren Michael (Katie) Skamfer, Rebecca Facer, Miranda Smith, Kristin Skamfer, Andrea (Ryan) Garland, Kelly Smith (Andrew), Johannah (Jacob) Frey, and Madison Bower; great-grandchildren Logan and Grady Skamfer and Baby Boy Garland, who is due in March; brother Rev. J. William (Jean) Kerrick; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Ruth E. (Meeker) Kerrick.
Lois was a graduate of Findlay High School in 1953 and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Wittenberg College in 1957. Lois and Bob spent the majority of their married years in Elida, Ohio. She was a very involved mom, supporting her children with studying, encouraging their musical talents, and always attending their activities. Lois always made sure her family was well fed by having meals ready for every time of the day and especially loved preparing for large family gatherings. Lois was an active member of the Child Conservation League, an Allen County Amanda Gingersnaps 4-H Club advisor and a dedicated Elida Band Booster. She and her husband travelled extensively with their family. Lois loved to sew and knit. She sewed all three of her girls' wedding dresses and knitted Christmas stockings for all of her grandchildren. She was an active member at New Creation Lutheran Church in Lima, and was involved in many ministries of the church. Lois loved to square dance with her husband with the Sues 'n Ques club and even published their newsletter.

Arrangements were entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230 where a visitation will take place from 5-7pm on Friday February 15, 2019. A funeral service will be held for Lois at 11am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main Street Bexley, Ohio 43209 with one hour of visitation prior to the service with Pastors Tim Iseringhausen and Denny Asp officiating.
Another visitation will be held at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home 920 N Cable Rd, Lima, OH 45805 on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 1-3pm, immediately followed by a prayer service at 3pm. A private interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, Ohio at a later date.
