Louis C. Daley, 95, of Lima, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1926 in Lima to the late Louis and Rose {Naples} Daley.
On August 10, 1984, he married Renee Meister, who survives him in Lima. Louie served in the Army during WWII. He retired from B&O Railroad after more than 30 years and owned Daley’s Discount Grocery Store. Louie was considered “the best tenor in town” by many and sang for several churches, weddings, funerals, and saloons and was also the choir director at St. Gerards Church. He was a member of the VFW, Elks, and Unico. He was a sportsman and could play any sport he tried.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Louis C. (Bev) Daley III, Chris Daley, Greg (Delaine) Daley, and Joe (Crystal) Diglio, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and sister: Patricia (Don) Crouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Clem Musto, Nena Sarno, Mary Treglia, Annie Stanovich, Rosie Thorpe, and Janet DePalma, and brothers: Alphonse, Ferdie, and Tom Daley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery.
