Louise Catherine O'Brien, 97, died at 1:15 a.m. June 20, 2007, at the Ridge at Shawnee. She was born December 7, 1909, in Ottawa, Ohio to Edward E. and Anna Mary Vogt Lory, who preceded her in death. On June 23, 1937, she married John Michael O'Brien, who died November 5, 1963. Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. Survivors include three daughters, Jane (Wayne) Hites, of Lima, Ohio, Mary (Gerald) Panzer, of Lemont, Ill., and Susan (Ned) Rhoades, of Lima, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, David Hites, Michelle (Bob) Corbin, Brian (Kelly) Hites, Mike (Crystal) Panzer, Joe Panzer, Tracey (Jason) Serpe, Kathy (Roger) Burke, Carolyn (Rob) Bonk, Elisabeth (Eric) Schenkelberg, Jack O'Brien, Stacie Avery, Shawn O'Brien, Ned Rhoades and Angela Rhoades; a step granddaughter, Nancy (Bill) Swisher; 17 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Kitty McGrievy and Anne Smith; and a nephew, Mike McGrievy. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward O?brien and Thomas O'Brien; and a sister, Marie McGrievy. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made St. Gerard Catholic Church or hospice.
