LOWELL E. OVERHOLT, 88, of Spencerville, Ohio, died at 5:00 p.m. on December 22, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. He was born April 11, 1922, in York Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, to Ira Overholt and Belle Ralston Overholt, who have preceded him in death. On August 3, 1946, in Celina, Ohio, he married Norma Seibert, who survives in Spencerville, Ohio. Mr. Overholt retired as manager of the Village of Spencerville Sewage Treatment Plant in 1988 after nearly 30 years there. He was a member of Spencerville United Methodist Church, Spencerville, Ohio. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, Spencerville, Ohio, and the American Legion Post 191, Spencerville, Ohio. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos, Ohio. He enjoyed playing cards. He was an avid Ohio State University fan. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1943 to 1946. Survivors also include a son, Gary (Barbara) Overholt, of Franklin Park, Illinois; a daughter, Judy (Roger) Yoh, of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Robert (Lois) Overholt, of Gomer, Ohio; a sister, Betty Boley, of Van Wert, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chris (Kelly) Overholt, of Elgin, Illinois, Melissa Overholt, of Franklin Park, Illinois, Kevin Yoh, of Findlay, Ohio, and Jennie (Matt) Zuber, of Daytona Beach, Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Devin and Ember. He was preceded in death by an infant sister. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Pastor Jim Mason will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery, Spencerville, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the funeral home.
