K. Lucille Chapman, 99, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Lima Convalescent Home.
Lucille was born on December 19, 1925, in Lima, Ohio to Perle R. and Mabel (Mawhorr) Chapman.
Lucille was the youngest of six children, having 4 brothers and 1 sister. She was a 1943 graduate of South High School. On March 30, 1947, at the age of 22 she became a member and was baptized at Olivet Presbyterian Church. On April 3, 1966, she became a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church and has remained a member for 53 Years. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at that time, and she enjoyed many activities at St. Mark’s, especially singing in the choir. Lucille was also very thankful for the ability to take care of her mother in her home for several years. Lucille did experience health issues in her early years but was able to be employed as a medical transcriber at both Lima hospitals. Lucille retired from St. Rita’s Medical Center after working there for many years. Lucille also enjoyed living at Lochhaven Assisted Living in her later years.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, especially Ron and Patti Chapman, Marianne Youngpeter, Alex Youngpeter, Allison (Eric) Gerberick, Lorelai Gerberick; and two wonderful friends, LaDonna Kindle and Linda Morrow.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Evelyn Scheufler, Donald Chapman, Walter Chapman, Robert Chapman, and Richard Chapman.
Graveside Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Ted Bible will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
