Lucille M. Dorsten,
95 of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 9:40 A.M. at Otterbein Nursing Home - Cridersville in Cridersville, Ohio.
Born Thursday, August 31, 1916 in Saint Marys, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harve Springer and the late Emma (Mallahan) Springer.
She was a homemaker.
Lucille married Robert R. Dorsten on May 8, 1937 in New Bremen, Ohio. Following their marriage they moved to Lima where they spent their married life.
Robert preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.
Lucille was only three days away from celebrating her 96th birthday.
Mrs. Dorsten was caregiver to her parents, in-laws, and siblings. She also enjoyed being very involved in the lives of her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Lucille was active within the church. She was particularly involved with work in the church nursery.
As a born again Christian, Lucille, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family would like to thank Otterbein Cridersville for the love and care given to Lucille, and a very special thanks to her daily caregivers.
Surviving are: two daughters, Verna (Donald) Stratton of Lima, OH and Donna (Russell) Palmer of Lima, OH; seven grandchildren, David (Carol) Palmer, Daniel (Vickie) Palmer, Robert (Valerie) Palmer, James (Jackie) Palmer, Darren (Tanya) Salsbury, Thomas (Ruth) Palmer, and Julie (Jason) Shaffer; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by, and infant daughter, Carol Ann Dorsten; two brothers, Carl Springer and Edwin Springer; two sisters, Verna Leonard and Eulala Rathburn.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. James Neighbors officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH.
