Lvera Sprague, 87, of Lima passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 6:45 a.m. at Lima Convalescent Home.
Lvera was born on August 17, 1935 in Wapakoneta, Ohio to the late Marion C. and Leah E. {Malston} McLaurin. On June 17, 1956, she married Paul J. Sprague, who preceded her in death October 23, 2020.
Lvera graduated from The Ohio State University Lima with a degree in Education. She was part of the first class at Ohio State Lima in Education Administration to graduate with a Bachelors degree. She then received her Masters degree from the University of Dayton. She was a teacher for Elida schools for over 30 years and after retirement, continued as a substitute until she was 80. She was an active member of Grace and Trinity United Methodist churches. She was a member of AAUW and was an Allen County Museum docent. Lvera loved music, singing in choirs, and playing in several senior bands. She enjoyed crafting and traveling. She was always ready to embark on the next travel adventure that came her way. She loved life.
She is survived by her son, Laurin (Lisa) Sprague of Hamilton, OH; daughter, Beci (Jim) Sarchet of Lima, OH; son, Kevin (Alana) Sprague of Parrish, FL; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, David Sprague; and sister-in-law, Mary (Merle) Kohli.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Alice Jane Sprague and Roseanne Sprague.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima.
