Lynda D. Hensley, 73, passed away at 6:42 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, at her home in Lima.

Lynda was born on April 27, 1947 in Lima, Ohio, to the late David and Betty Jean (Elston) Hall.  On July 28, 1974 she married Richard E. “Rich” Hensley, who survives in Lima.

Lynda was a graduate of Bath High School.  She had worked at Tri Star Community Counseling as a secretary and also Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home as a Funeral Attendant/Greeter.  She mentored at Perry Elementary Schools for many years.  She was a member of South Side Christian Church, Faithfull Followers Sunday School Class, Christian Women’s Fellowship and P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AS.    Lynda was a wonderful cook and baker.  She catered for many meetings and organizations.  At Christmastime she made and gave away many trays of candies and cookies.  Lynda loved doing crafts and took her work to craft shows in the area.  For many years she entered food and crafts in the Allen County Fair.

She is survived by her husband; sister, Susan (Dane) Bowers of Wauseon, OH; brother, Michael (Jennifer) Hall of Celina, OH; niece, Courtney Bowers; nephew, Jedidiah (Jennifer) Bowers; and niece, Amanda (Kevin) Little. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Hensley.

Due to Covid the visitation, service, and graveside burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Christian Church or Deb’s Dogs.
