M. Eleanor Patterson

Eleanor Patterson died at 2:42 A.M. on Monday, August 18, 1014 at her daughters residence in Lima.


Mary was born on August 28, 1919, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Richard Huffer and Alma [Wright] Huffer.

On Monday, May 12, 1947, in Lima she married Roger Patterson who passed away in 1980.

She graduated from Elida High School. She was a homemaker and member of Allentown United Methodist Church & its United Methodist Women's Society. She had worked for Westinghouse & Lazarus, retiring from Lazarus in 1985. She was a 50 year member of Trinity Chapter #16 O.E.S., served on the Advisory Board of Lima Rainbow Girls, was a volunteer for St Rita's Medical Center for 17 years and was also a "Gray Lady" at Lima Convalescent Home. She also enjoyed playing golf & loved gardening.

She is survived by: a daughter, Diane King of Lima; two sons Dennis (Dawn) Patterson of Salome, AZ, and Gregory (Vickie) Patterson of Lima. . Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Josh (Shelley) King, Jason (Emily)King, Bryan King, Matthew (Jayme) Patterson, Julianna Patterson, DeLane (Sarah) Patterson and DeVawn (Sandy Bowlan) Patterson; nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are; three half sisters Carole Ann Bogart,of Zephyrhills, FL, Jacqueline Lanier of Hanelock, NC, Pat Dixon of Bradenton, FL, three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Jake Huffer, a nephew, Tom Robinson and her stepfather-James L. Yohe.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Allentown United Methodist Church. Pastor Neal Whitney will officiate.

Interment will be in Allentown Cemetery, Allentown, Ohio.
