Marcia Markel

Marcia J. Markel, 80, died at 8:50 p.m. March 12, 2009, at her residence. She was born August 14, 1928, in Allen County to Millard L. and Rowena Wetherill Clevenger, who preceded her in death. On December 25, 1950, she married Jack F. Markel, who died March 4, 2003. Mrs. Markel was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. She retired from teaching at Horace Mann and Lincoln schools through the Lima City School System. Marcia loved her grandchildren and was very proud of them. Her grandchildren loved her so much, as well. Marcia was a loving mother, grandmother and a very special person. Survivors include a son, Dr. Patrick (Patty) Markel, of Valley, Washington; a daughter, Lisa Markel, of Lakeview, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Elizabeth Markel, all of Valley, Washington; special friends Connie and Dave Mauch, of Lima, Ohio; and special caregivers, Tina, Nicole, Tammy, Lynn, Mandy, Anna and St. Rita?s Home Health Care. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Joan Hall and Maralyn J. Cossell. Graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial of the cremains will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
