Marcia Janet Mauk, 79, passed away on October 4, 2018 at 11:25 a.m. at the Meadows of Delphos. She was born on December 3, 1938 in Allegan, MI to George and Martha Barrington who preceded her in death. On October 17, 1955 she married Richard Lee Mauk who preceded her in death on December 24, 1996.
Janet was a 1957 graduate of Lima Central High School. She was a member of the Marching Band, playing the cornet. She went on to marry the love of her life, raising 6 children as a stay-at-home mom and then began working for the Bath Township House out of her home, eventually moving to the office and working for them for over 35 years, retiring in September of 2014. She was a member of the Bath Boosters, the Starlight Club of Lima, and was a member of the Lima Bible Fellowship which was later known as Grace Bible Church. She enjoyed the ministry of Welcome to Grace with Pastor Curt Crist. She was also an avid fan of all the sports her children and grandchildren coached and played.
Survivors include 5 children, Mike (Gwyn) Mauk of Springfield, MO, Mark (Joyce) Mauk of Mansfield, OH, Cheryl (Rick) Meeks of Elida, OH, Lauri (Bill) Garland of Cairo, OH, and George (Mindy) Mauk of Cairo, OH, a brother, John (Susan) Barrington of Burgin, KY, sisters-in-law, Judye Barrington of Columbus, OH and Sue Mauk of Cairo, OH, one brother-in-law, Bill Placie of Lima, OH, and a special friend, David Deubler of Continental, OH. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter April Mauk, daughter-in-law, Reinette Mauk, and two brothers Tom and Steve Barrington.
A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
