Margaret Cassaro

Margaret Irene Cassaro 87, died at 10:10 p.m. July 13, 2007, at her residence. She was born July 28, 1919, in Lima, Ohio to Carl E. and Pearl N. Riggle Hollar, who preceded her in death. On June 6, 1936, she married Robert W. Cassaro, who died August 28, 2002. Mrs. Cassaro was a homemaker. She attended Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lima Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family. She loved traveling to Texas. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. Shivley, of Lima, Ohio, and Cheryl L. (Dennis) Peters, of Elida, Ohio; two sons, Robert J. (Evelyn) Cassaro, of Menifee, California, and Richard C. (Susan) Cassaro, of Burnsville, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Jody Gorman, Kim Schaffter, Craig Shivley, Derek Shivley, Karmi Chapman, Brian Cassaro, Todd Peters, Tonya Youker, Kelly Cassaro, Tony Cassaro and Angela Huhta; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin E. (Nobu) Hollar and Russell Wayne (Donna) Hollar; and a sister, Gloria J. Covault. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Aaron Schaffter; and five brothers. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. James A. Jamison will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita?s Hospice.
