Margaret J. Kohl Daley-Eckford, 91, died at 5:05 p.m. July 28, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born July 8, 1917, in Springfield, Ohio to Charles E. and Carrie Butler Kohl, who preceded her in death. In 1956, she married Robert H. Eckford, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Daley-Eckford had been the business manager for Charles E. Kohl Excavating Contractor and was owner of the Needle Craft Shop. She was a member of Tri-Moraine Audubon Society and the Crafty Quilters Quilting Club. She was a wonderful quilter and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved gardening. Survivors include two sons, Charles (Shirley) Daley, of Spencerville, Ohio, and John Daley, of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Steven (Melissa) Daley, of Spencerville, Ohio, Shonda (Steven) Whittaker, of Burk, Virginia, Sabrina Daley, of Johnstown, Ohio, and Stephanie (Herman) Carnes, of Wapakoneta, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren, Christina Daley, Andrew Daley, Nathaniel Nichols, Domenic Nichols, Jenelle Whittaker, Erin Whittaker, Miranda Whittaker, Savannah Carnes and Michaela Carnes; and a great-great-grandchild, Mylee Daley. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Dorothea Kintz, Charles E. Kohl II, Genevieve Sarber and Ruth Allen. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Wanda Werking will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
