Margaret EVERS

MARGARET "AVIS" EVERS, 79, died at 9:20 p.m. July 26, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born October 20, 1924, in Auglaize County, Ohio to Guy Oscar and Mabel Ann McGinnis Kaufman, who preceded her in death. On April 7, 1946, she married George D. Evers, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Evers was a homemaker and had retired as a cafeteria worker from Lima Senior High School after 17 years. She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. Survivors also include a son, David Evers of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Rita (John) Thomas of Atlanta; four brothers, Walter "Buzz" Kaufman, Russell (Karen) Kaufman and Byron Eugene "Gene" (Marquita) Kaufman, all of Lima, Ohio, and Darrell Brice (Linda Sue) Kaufman of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters, Barbara (Darrell) Frysinger and Linda Lee (James) Hamilton, both of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Elton Kaufman; a sister, Marva C. Evers; a sister-in-law, Betty Kaufman; and a brother-in-law, Gayle Eugene Evers. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Forest Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Forest Park United Methodist Church.
