Margaret Moening

MARGARET E. MOENING, 81, died at 5 a.m. April 12, 2007, at Lost Creek Care Center. She was born January 1, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Klement and Anna Pintera Naum, who preceded her in death. On September 11, 1948, she married Leo R. "Dick" Moening, who died June 9, 2000. Mrs. Moening retired as a practical nurse instructor from Apollo's School of Practical Nursing and had also taught at St. Rita's School of Nursing. She had worked as a nurse at St. Rita's Medical Center for several years. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ohio State Alumni, St. Rita's Alumni and its auxiliary and Alpha Theta Sisters. She was a 1944 graduate of Lima South High School. Survivors include two daughters, Jane E. Moening Bailey and Linda (Michael) Kayser, both of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Steve (Gloria) Moening, of Lima, Ohio, and Mark Moening, of Plantation, Florida; 12 grandchildren, Jenny (Luke) Jefferies, of St. Mary?s, Ohio, Alison (Michael) Stevenson and Scott Moening, both of Lima, Ohio, Stacy Moening, of Rochester, Minn., Sean Moening, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Tech. Sgt. Seth (Kirsten) Moening, of Dover, Del., Amanda (Cary) Prendergast, of Coral Springs, Florida, Melody Moening, of Tampa, Florida, Alex Moening, of Hollandale, Florida, Jeremy Moening, of Atlanta, and Eric Kayser and Natalie Kayser, both of Lima, Ohio; and 10 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. She was preceded in death by two brothers, A.C. and Thomas Naum; a sister, Mildred Naum; a cousin, Frances Kramer; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Naum. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Norbert Howe will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bittersweet Inc.
