Margaret Hunt Newcomer

April 25, 1926 — May 9, 2006

MARGARET M. HUNT NEWCOMER, 80, died at 3:15 a.m. May 9, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born April 25, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Roy O. and Lucinda Smith Hunt, who preceded her in death. On June 26, 1948, she married William "Bill" Newcomer, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Newcomer was a homemaker. She had been a factory worker during World War II and had worked at Hart's Record Store. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, where she was a volunteer. She was a member of Club 42 and had been a den mother. She enjoyed traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors also include six children, Joyce (Michael) Shirk, Jim (Cindy) Newcomer and Gary (Bonnie) Newcomer, all of Lima, Ohio, Carol (Jeff) Ballmer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sandra (Mike) Davis of Lima, Ohio and Scott Newcomer of Indianapolis, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Jackie) Hunt of Lima, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Frank Zupan of California; and three sisters-in-law, Patricia Campbell of Florida and Joan Hunt and Peggy Hunt McKenna, both of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Hunt, Robert Hunt and Roger Hunt; and a sister, Norma Zupan. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Lacey will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
