75, returned to the Lord peacefully at 11:47 AM on Sunday, February 01, 2015, at Lima Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio. Ever loving, loyal, devoted and accepting of all, Margaret is deeply loved and cared about by many. Love you more!
Margaret was her own woman who made her own choices about her life. She spoke only kind words about others and will be deeply missed. Her family was the most important thing to her and her actions showed that every day of her life. Her energy, time and effort went to loving her husband and family.
Margaret was an avid Buckeye, Reds and Bengals fan who also loved to play guitar and sing. She was an excellent classic guitar player and a fantastic quilter. She shared her many talents and selfless love with her community.
Margaret was born on December 04, 1939, in Austin, Texas, to the late Alfonso Perez and Susana (Luna) Perez. She married Eli C. Piña Saturday, June 25, 1960. They were happily married for 54 years. He survives in Lima.
She is also survived by her four sons: Patrick (Stacey) Piña, of Columbus, OH, Benito (Jill) Piña, of Columbus, OH, Phillip Piña of Minneapolis, MN, and Richard (Amy) Piña, of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren, Gabrielle Piña of Phoenix, AZ, Olivia Piña, Maria Rose Piña, Emily Piña, and Audra Piña of Columbus, OH, and Eli Piña and Josie Piña of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Raul (Irene) Perez of Paulding, OH and Jim Perez of Fort Wayne, IN; and four sisters, Agedita Trejo of Austin, TX, Rebecca (Efriam) Canales of Defiance, OH, Susan Cuellar of Fort Wayne, IN, and Rosie (Jack) Merillat of Hudson, MI.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Roland Perez, Regino Perez, John Perez, Joe Perez, a sister Gloria Flores (Lucas) Flores.
The family will receive friends from 10 am -11:30 am on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Jim Szobonya.
She will be laid to rest in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to: Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or St. Gerard School.
