Margaret Pitchford

MARGARET E. PITCHFORD, 78, died at 9:40 p.m. June 4, 2004, at Beverly Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Delphos to Dorn F. and Margaret Shields McMichael, who both preceded her in death. On Oct. 25, 1942, she married Paul William Pitchford, who died April 9, 2000. Mrs. Pitchford was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and Crestwood Neighborhood Association. She and her husband taught ballroom dancing at the Bradfield Center and the Allen County Council on Aging and they danced at various rest homes for the enjoyment of the residents. She had worked in the Shawnee School cafeteria for many years. She helped at the Bradfield Center's after-school program. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara E. Eley, of Lima, and Paula (Vernon) Reynolds, of Cridersville; three sisters, M. Pauline (Charles) Joder, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Betty Johnston, of Flint, Mich., and Shirley (John) Sprinkle, of Springfield; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Millie McMichael, of Springfield; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Arthur, of Lima. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dorn F. McMichael; and a sister, Gwena "Mickey" Arthur. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lima Baptist Temple. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
