Marian ?Jean? Salsburey , 85, died at 9:47 p.m. April 25, 2009, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Services Community. She was born January 23, 1924, in Allen County to Harvey and Elizabeth Haverstick Crites, who preceded her in death. On July 1, 1944, she married Virgil ?Abe? Salsburey, who died November 12, 2007. Mrs. Salsburey retired as an importing/exporting supervisor from Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton/Clark Equipment after 30 years. She had served as president of the Circle Diamond Credit Union. She was a 1942 graduate of Mendon High School, where she was the salutatorian. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking and made the best pies in Lima. She loved taking care of her family and keeping up with the world news. She had a lot of friends, whom she adored. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was always there for everyone. Survivors include five children, Peggy J. Frysinger, of Lima, Ohio, Diana Coats, of Lafayette, Ohio, and Robert (Chris) Salsburey, Rebecca Harrod and Betty Mikesell, all of Lima, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and twin sisters, Janelle (Charles) Fox, of Maumee, and Janette Painter, of Wilshire. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Matthew Mikesell II; two sons-in-law, Doyle Mikesell and Alan Coates; four brothers, Ray Crites, Ross Crites, Rex Crites and Clair Crites; and five sisters, Ruby, Irene, Breta, Betty and Cecil. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Eric Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
