Marilyn Amstutz

Marilyn P. Amstutz Marilyn P. Amstutz, 84, died at 7:30 a.m. April 9, 2009, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born March 2, 1925, in Lima to Thomas J. and Giavanna Lyons Purtell, who preceded her in death. On August 8, 1951, she married Wendell Amstutz, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Amstutz had been a teacher in Lima City Schools for 34 years. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Rose High School and a 1947 graduate of Ohio Northern University, Ada. She also attended The Ohio State University and Northwestern University. She was a vibrant, friendly and loving person, who enjoyed reading. Survivors also include a daughter, Ann (Joel) Dysart, of Johnstown; a son, John Christian (Donna) Amstutz, of Reynoldsburg; two grandchildren, Timothy (Pamela) Dysart, of South Bend, Ind., and Heather Dysart, of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Purtell; and a sister, Rosemary Wetherill. There will be no services or visitation.
