Marilyn A. Sackinger, 90, passed away at 12:57 a.m. on February 27, 2021, at Vancrest Nursing Home, Ada, OH.
Marilyn was born on October 20, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, to Ernest and Iva Gladys (Zeiters) Kiser. On May 28, 1950 she married Wallace William Sackinger who preceded her in death on December 18, 1987.
Marilyn was a member of Christian Church in Lafayette, OH. She was also a member of VFW #1275 Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was the activities coordinator for events at Luther Pines in Lima for several years. She worked at the TB Hospital, Lima Armature Works, and Pinkerton Security, as well as the Telephone Company in Shelby, Ohio when she was younger. She was an avid bird watcher and was a sensational gardener. She spent many years with her beloved cat Joy and enjoyed days watching the deer in the meadow behind Luther Pines. Marilyn was an all around animal lover and enjoyed walking her property and being around nature. She loved to travel with her daughter, visiting her sisters in Alabama and Mansfield. She made the best homemade bread and her family absolutely loved to enjoy it. She had more purses than any one woman would ever need and was stubborn but in the best ways and always wanted to help and never took no for an answer. Marilyn had a quiet personality but loved listening to her family and having her whole family together with her.
She is survived by her daughters: Lynnetta Rose (William) Stevenson of Columbus Grove, Debra Kay (David) Kersker of Port Charlotte, FL, Kayleen (August) Dove of Lima and Patricia Marie (Gary) Dyer of Waynesfield.
