Marion Kirkman

MARION E. KIRKMAN, 85, died at 2:18 a.m. October 29, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born March 16, 1921, in Forsyth, Georgia, to Andrew Gus and Adell Estell Henderson Watkins, who preceded her in death. She married Thomas L. Kirkman, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Kirkman was a member of St. Paul AME Church, where she served on the stewardess and usher boards. She was a member of Cyrene Chapter 21 Order of Eastern Star, where she was a past worthy matron. She had a love for life, loved gardening and enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include three children, James C. (Janice L.) Lawson of Sicklerville, New Jersey, Catherine R. (Michael L.) Esters of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, and Alvin W. Lawson of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Doris E. Lawson of Lima, Ohio; two grandchildren, James C. Lawson III and LaQuita D. Esters; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Ruth Watkins, Edgar Watkins, Perry Watkins, Lawrence Watkins and Ralph Watkins, Lucile Caine and Thelma Watkins and Charles Watkins. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward L. Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
