Marion E Swallow

Marion Eugene Swallow, 88, passed away at 11:00 p.m. on April 24, 2023, at Odem at Auglaize.

Marion was born on July 5, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to Bill and Nellie (Taylor) Swallow.  On June 19, 1955, he married Janice Sue (Cook) Swallow, who survives in Lima.

Marion was a 1953 graduate of Lima South. He worked at Swallow Beverages which was owned by his family and he retired from Culligan Water. He enjoyed woodworking and was proud of the many ribbons he won at the Allen County Fair. Marion also enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and loved reading history books.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Rebecca (Carl) Binkley, and William “Bill” Swallow; daughter-in-law, Kim Swallow; grandchildren: Dustin, Renee, Brian, Megan, Jason, Brittney, and Rachael; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lynn Swallow, and his sister, Shirley Evans.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the funeral home.  Rev. Larry Molaski will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Audubon Society.
